"ALIEN CITIZEN is a zine which seeks to interrogate Australia's (and by analogy much of the Euro-American Anglosphere's) burgeoning white nationalism, which is largely sustained on the scapegoating of racialised minorities and increasingly draconian border policies. We are interested in how government abuses are resisted creatively, with a particular focus on different modalities of resistance - in first person storytelling, political polemic, and when trauma cracks the narrative frame. Australia's race-driven border politics brings into stark relief how the "other" (in this case the outsider, refugee or minority Muslim) is historically and aesthetically represented." - REFUGEE ART PROJECT
