In Sanika Phawde’s Wedding Juice and other Melodramas No. 1, chaos ensues, as a family attempts to plan a “small” Indian wedding, from opposite sides of the planet in a ridiculously short amount of time! Sanika and their white fiancée, John, are in the United States, while their parents are in India, where the wedding will take place. Through comically stressful facetime calls, the group will plan out “the most important day of Sanika’s life!”
 
Sanika’s dynamic and kinetic cartooning complements the ridiculousness of low-level family tension. While a lot of these autobiographical stories laugh at themselves, Sanika reveals deep feelings related to familial and cultural commitments.
